Green Turtle Cay

Kent's family joined us this year for our annual visit to one of our favorite Out-Island spots:  Green Turtle Cay.  It was a great trip and I think everybody had a lot of fun!  A notable first:  Justin went SCUBA diving for the very first time!

New York City

Michele and I took the kids up to NYC for a little blast of cold weather and holiday cheer just before Christmas this year.  It was VERY crowded (more so than last time), but we had a great time anyway!  You can see our photos from the trip using this link:

Thanksgiving Hockey Tournament

The whole family went to Coral Springs, FL just after Thanksgiving for a hockey tournament.  The boys played well and we all had a fun time!  Here are some photos:

And here are some videos:

Brandon:

Brandon's teammate flips the puck out in front and he backhands it in for a goal:

Zach steals the puck after the faceoff, Nino retrieves it from the corner.  He passes to Brandon who shoots from a tough angle and scores:

Justin:

Justin takes a big shot that gets deflected over(?) the goal, then his teammate takes a shot that gets deflected in for a goal:

A nice poke check at the blue line by Justin leads to a shot off the post by Keaton, and almost a full minute of sustained pressure by the Bulls. Finally the other team ices it in desperation:

Justin prevents a scoring opportunity for the other team and earns a trip to the penalty box for his trouble:

Justin’s team battled hard to get a 4-3 lead and was protecting it for most of the 3^rd period.  Here is the exciting last minute of the game:

The whole family gathered at Mom & Dad's farm in Plant City for Thanksgiving again this year and we all had a great time!  In addition to the delicious feast, all the kids had lots of fun riding dirt bikes & ATV's and playing on the hay bales.

Justin's Hockey Game

Here are some photos from Justin's hockey game.  Justin plays defense, so his job is to be “the last man back”, disrupt the other team’s offense, clear the puck out of danger in his zone, and make passes up ice to his forwards.  He takes pride in shutting the other team down!  J  He doesn’t score often, but has a BIG impact on the success of the team.  That’s why, in many of the photos, you will see him passing the puck instead of shooting.

Cameron's Hockey Game

Cameron's hockey skills have really been improving lately!  He was moved up to the older Mites group and competes well with the older kids.  He battles for every puck and does not give an inch!  Here are some photos from his first game of the Fall season:

Brandon's Hockey Game

Brandon's hockey team, the Jr. Bulls competed in the first tournament of the season over Labor Day weekend.  They did very well overall, finishing in 2nd place.  They had quite a run, going 4 & 0 before they were finally taken down in the championship game.  I am very proud of Brandon and the Jr. Bulls!

Vancouver, Canada

This summer, we took a big, family vacation to Alaska aboard the Disney Wonder.  Michele's parents joined us as well as Kent and Pi's families.  Mom & Dad were scheduled to come along, but they were not feeling up to it.  We flew to Vancouver a few days early and had a great time sightseeing before we boarded the ship.  Here are the photos from Vancouver:

Sampson Cay

Kent & his family joined us this year for our annual trip to Sampson Cay, Exuma, Bahamas.  We had a great time relaxing, boating, snorkeling, fishing, etc.  My "water-proof" camera died on the first day, so I was only able to get a handful of shots with my iPhone and a disposable camera we bought.

Grand Cayman

We returned to Grand Cayman for the first time in many years and really enjoyed it!  We did lots of swimming, snorkeling, fishing, and relaxing on the beach.  We also took in some of the local attractions such as the Turtle Farm, Pirate Caves, and Blow Hole.  We even got to watch the Lightning play Pittsburg on TV at Margaritaville!  It was a fabulous trip and I'm sure we will return again soon.

Deer Valley, Utah

We went on our annual family ski trip to Deer Valley, UT (near Park City). The weather was less-than-perfect, but we made the best of it and had a fun time anyway! We went tubing the first day and then skiied the next three. No broken bones, so I'd say it was a good trip. See all the photos here:
